The Jill Amy Rosenblatt Interview

jill rosenblattWhat is one thing that no-one would usually know about you? I have a secret desire to go to Comic-Con.

Are the names of your characters important to you? Absolutely. The name helps me develop the character and their personality.

Are there any occupational hazards to being an author? You never leave your desk. When you have to, you take your work with you in your head. It makes it tough to have a conversation with real people!

Have you ever wished that you could be or do anything else instead of writing, and if so what? No. But I have wondered what it would be like to be an actress, or a saxophone player.

What is the book that you wished you had written? I wish I had written The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood. Unbelievably amazing and unforgettable.

Do you have any favourite resources you would like to share with our readers? I like going to the library or bookstore and looking through magazines. You never know what stories you’ll find that will spark an idea.

Tea, Coffee, Water, Juice, Wine or Beer … which do you prefer when writing? I prefer a latte. I love them! They’re completely addictive.

Are there any habits you wish you didn’t have? Procrastination alternating with bouts of workaholism.
