Description

The Hysteria Writing Competition 2021 is now open. Originally set up to support my social enterprise, The Hysterectomy Association, I’m now running it just to help other writers and authors get a chance of additional exposure with an audience they haven’t met yet.

There is a £50 prize for the winners of each category. Nine additional entries will be included in the Hysteria 8 anthology to be published in November 2021. The prize fund has been doubled thanks to the generous donation of an anonymous benefactor.

Categories are:

  • Short story – maximum 600 words
  • Flash fiction – maximum 100 words
  • Poetry – maximum 12 lines

It is open to any writer over the age of 18 of any nationality, all entries must be in English. The theme for this years’ competition is Hope and Unity.

Just choose your entry type below and you’ll be redirected to the form you can use to submit your entry. Please remember to save your entry with the order number as its file name so I can keep track of who has entered what.

Before you get started though, make sure you’re familiar with the rules and have a read of the guidelines too.

Best of luck
Linda

That would be a great challenge for you don’t you think? The way I started was to take a photo and see what it inspired in me.

  2. Said

Amazing, but I can’t write a flash fiction under 100 words

  3. Mary Rose Bulawan

Good for other writers who wants to showcase their ideas.
