When I think of the work I used to do I’m amazed at the lifestyle I can enjoy now. If I had still been with the University of Central England, running business development projects for companies starting out using the Internet, or if I had still been at The National Trust, where I was a customer care coordinator working with the end users of the IT systems in the charity, then I wouldn’t have been able to spend two months in Cyprus as I have been doing.
It’s fascinating the way that life has worked out, and I enjoy every moment of it. I am my own boss, I do what I want when I want (with the exception of keeping my customers happy).
As long as I have access to the Internet, I can work from anywhere in the world. Replying to emails, adding content to the websites, updating my blogs etc… and then I can do what I’m going to do this afternoon – go for a long, lazy lunch in a local taverna and a walk on the beach with hubby with a nice wind down with friends this evening.
Of course, once we get back to the UK we will be working extra hard to get the house back to normal after all the building work we’ve done but hopefully within a month it will be finished completely and our new office will be ready for use and I can go back to my wonderful, long, lazy lunches and afternoon tea with friends, trips to the beach (we live very near to the beach at home as well) and out to the theatre – perfect!
